ABOUT TOUR :

  Mtskheta with its eventful past, medieval churches and Monasteries, tiny downtown, and amazing landscape is one of the most popular destinations among the visitors of the country. Mtskheta, which is old capital of Georgia, still preserves the samples featured not only to Christianity, but also to the pagan pantheon, thus town can amaze you with its old and mysterious spirit.

Concerning its historical importance, cultural meaning and architectural monuments, in 1994 Mtskheta became the UNESCO world heritage site. In 2014 Mtskheta was announced the “holy city” by Georgian Orthodox Church.

The tour starts with the driving up to the hill where Jvari monastery overlooks the river, then we visit Mtskheta downtown and Svetitskhoveli church. We will end up our trip in Shio Mghvime Monastery, where the picturesque views are attracting the guests. Finally we stop at Salobie, the famous traditional restaurant, where we will have dinner and try traditional Georgian dishes.

The tour is ideal for those who are willing to learn the history of the city and explore all the ancient paths of the region.
