David Gareja

David Garejais the cave monastery complex of the VI century situated on Georgia-Azerbaijan border and extends to 25 km along the slopes of the half-desert Gareja ridge. David Gareja is unique with the multitude of the ancient murals in various languages: Georgian, Armenian, Greek and even Arabian.

Signagi, Bodbe, Tsinandali, Shumi Wine Cellar

Signati - a small but picturesque town on the steep hill, overlooking the Caucasian ridge. It is situated on the terraces, which are connected with the curved narrow cobblestone streets.

Tsinandali - one of the most important historical destinations in Kakheti region. Formerly, the fortress was the melting pot, where Alexander Chavchavadze was hosting the famous politicians, merchants and cultural figures. The guests enjoyed Georgina hospitality and Georgian wine from one of the most ancient cellars in Georgia, which at present still keeps the unique wine collection.

Telavi historical center of Kakheti region

Alaverdi - the Cathedral of the first quarter of the XI century (the St. George Cathedral) and the Monastery complex. The Alaverdi Cathedral has been the highest ecclesiastic construction in Georgia.

Ikalto -  the Academy, established by the David the Builder in the XII century. It was the cultural and educational center in Georgia.

old Georgian Military Road, Zhinvali, Ananuri, Stepantsminda, Kazbegi Mount, Gergeti Trinity Church.

Gergeti Trinity Church  -  situated at an elevation of 2170 meters under Mount Kazbegi along the Georgian Military Road. It offers the excellent views at the Kazbegi mounts and allures the visitors with its antiquity, grandeur and simplicity.

Georgian Military Road it is the historical and strategic road through the main Caucasian ridge, connecting Vladikavkaz and Tbilisi. The Military Road was even described by Strabo in his historical notes. The road was the source of inspiration for Pushkin, Lermontov, Mayakovski and it is described in the famous novels “The Hero of our Era” and “12 chairs”.

Kazbegi: Dariali Gorge, Georgia-Russia border, Djvari Monastery, Mtskheta.

Dariali Gorge  - the first fortress in Dariali gorge was built in the II century B.C. It is one of the key strategic places on the territory not of Georgia only but of the whole Caucasus. It is the Georgia-Russia border.

Mtshketa - the ancient Capital of Georgia, which was of the strategic importance in ancient era. According to the legends, Mtskheta is the place of burial of many sanctities. In middle ages, Mtskheta was the key urban, trade and crafts and religious center. Nowadays, the town is attributed to the world cultural heritage

Shida Kartli

Gori, Uplistsikhe

Gori- one of the oldest historical cities of Eastern Georgia, which is mentioned in the chronicles of the VII century, currently known as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Gori is towered by the ruins of the middle ages fortress Goristsikhe, the construction of the XII century, which was the strategic object, seizure of which meant domination over the whole Shida Kartli territory.

Uplistsikhe - one of the eminent cave towns in Georgia, erected in the end of the II and in the beginning of the I millenium B.C. Archaeologists confirm the trade connection of Uplistsikhe with Urartu and Media, as well as underline its significant as the cultural center of the region. Uplistsikhe was the place not only to worship the Sun God but of other heavenly bodies and the whole pantheon of the pagan gods of Georgia.

History of the city originates from the V century and the city has been under development ever since as a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic center of the Caucasus. Tbilisi, with its unique beauty, captivates the visitors with its diversity and at the same time, with its originality. The peculiarity that dignifies Tbilisi amongst other cities is its unique architecture, where the Asian and European styles are intercrossed. The old city and the baths – it is the embodiment of the Asian influence. In the XIX century, the facilities emerged in Tbilisi built in the style of the late Russian classicism, Art Nouveau Tbilisi and modernism. However, the Mauritanian buildings have been simultaneously built.  The German settlements emerge at the left embankment of the River Mtkvari within the same period, titled as the New Tbilisi. Thus, Tbilisi becomes the destination in high demand for the merchants, rich-men from Europe and Asia, for the poets, singers, writers and for mere travelers aspiring to the new and exotic sensations. Following the ancient paths

From time immemorial, the ancient nations used to take the old Georgian Military Road even in the VI century B.C. Scythians moved through Trans-Caucasus and in 1899, the Military Road was open connecting Tiflis with Vladikavkaz.

In old ages, the road served as the source of inspiration for Pushkin, Lermontov, Mayakovski and other famous figures. Many travelers from Europe, wandering along this old road, have described the unbelievable beauty of Caucasus and divers routine life of Caucasian people. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to contemplate change of the nature starting from 500 m altitude above the sea level up to 2500 m. Along the road, you will see the historical places, cultural monuments, you can also drink the mineral and spring waters.
